The ships are outfitted with an extensive sensor suite that uses a combination of laser and radar scanners for actively detecting and tracking targets, while monitoring surrounding space for anomalous energy sources. Due to their heavy armament they can be used both as escorts for larger capital ships and for rapid offensive engagement. At 535.05 meters in length, the Paris-class is smaller than the Charon-class assault frigate, but is more heavily armed and armored.
